Sopwell House is a 128 guest room hotel and we were appointed to deliver QS services on the UK’s first Private Members’ Spa. The project brief was for a complete revamp of the spa facilities and to deliver a new build multi-storey extension to the rear of the Hotel including a basement fit out, to facilitate a new spa and relaxation centre. This included a new indoor-outdoor swimming pool, a full external landscaping package and to provide a new reception serving the state of the art Gym and treatment rooms.
The project itself was not only technically challenging due to the high quality specification and fit out, but there were a number of complex external factors which had to be managed throughout. The contract consisted of 4 separate sections and each had to be completed whilst the rest of the hotel was in operation. The existing hotel was also part Grade II listed so the design had to be sympathetic to this.
The project team working with us was as follows;
ISA – Architect, Harley Haddow – Structures, EP Consulting – MEP, SPARC Studios – Interior designers
